Public Winch Meet 2012
Open to the public from
Sat 2nd June to Friday 8th June
Operating times 8am onwards, but as the winch can only accommodate a fixed number of people per day it is essential to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Please note the winch stops running at 12am on the Friday to enable the equipment to be dismantled. You must arrive by 10am on this day to be sure of a ride on the winch.
Booking.
We are unable to take advance bookings. Book as soon as you arrive at Gaping Gill. All visitors are given a numbered tag; you will descend in that order.
The price to descend is £10 per person (return!).
Advice for visitors.
Park in Clapham village and allow one and a half hours to walk to Gaping Gill via the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail and Ingleborough Show Cave.
Please bring you own refreshments as none are provided at GG.
Limited refreshments can be obtained at Ingleborough Cave when it is open.
If the winch is not running due to bad weather, a notice will be posted at Ingleborough Cave
